This program will feature the careful examination of two pieces of purportedly 18th century furniture - one Dutch and one American - to learn about construction methods, style, finish, and ultimately, authenticity. We will also discuss what makes a piece museum worthy, and how the museum both acquires and deaccessions works. Lead by Dr. Stanton Thomas, Curator of Collections and Exhibitions; Erin Wilson, Curatorial Assistant; Stephanie Chill, Curatorial Assistant; and Ashley Burke, Registrar, this is a rare opportunity to critically examine works in the Museum of Fine Art's Collection.
Held in the Bayview Room at the MFA from 1pm - 3pm
